The building works of the New Exhibition and Congress Hall have been launched
On Friday 6 April 2018, all the Bordeaux Events team attended the laying of the first stone of the New Hall of the Bordeaux Exhibition Centre, in the presence of Mr. Alain Juppé (President of Bordeaux Métropole and Mayor of Bordeaux), Mr. Alain Rousset (President of the Nouvelle Aquitaine Regional Council), Mr. Nicolas Florian (Chairman of the Board of the Société Bordelaise des Equipements Publics d'Expositions et de Congrès (SBEPEC)) and Mr. Eric Dulong (Executive Chairman of Bordeaux Congress and Exhibition).
Following the dismantling of Hall 2, the building phase began in early 2018 for a duration of 12 months. The New Hall will be completed during the 1st quarter of 2019 and will host its inaugural events, Vinexpo and the Bordeaux International Fair, in the spring.
Project management has been entrusted to two architectural agencies, Arsène Henri-Triaud and Brochet-Lajus-Pueyo, following an architectural competition launched in 2016
This new venue, financed by Bordeaux Métropole, the City of Bordeaux, the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Regional Council and the SBEPEC for a total amount of €35 million, will enhance the city, and more broadly the region, with major facilities which will boost the business tourism sector throughout the whole region.

In particular, this new venue will add to the facilities of the Bordeaux Congress Centre, which offers, over a surface area of 12,000m2, 3,000m2 of exhibition space and three auditoriums (1,293, 353 and 196 seats).
