Bordeaux Exhibition Centre in Bordeaux is pleased to have played host to the 63rd Professional Mineral Industry Convention and Exhibition from October 7th to 10th 2014.
This event brought 3,000 visitors to Hall 3.
Organised by the Société de l'Industrie Minérale (SIM), this convention was the opportunity for the institution to talk about numerous subjects in the sector (climatology, mineral processing plants, primary and secondary mineral resources, recycling and the circular economy, hygiene and security) through visits and technical workshops.
A plenary session was dedicated to alternative mineral resources. Also Alain Juppé Bordeaux’s Mayor was present at the conference entitled « Adopting strategies to come out of recession? » where professionals of the filed and Government representatives spoke.
A professional forum was organised about « Productivity and security ». With more than 300 exhibitors on over 6,000m², this exhibition area brought together professional organisations and equipment suppliers, material and services with operators, teachers and students.
In partnership with numerous structures such as Mines Nancy (l'Ecole des Mines de Nancy) and the National Conservatory of Arts and Crafts (Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers (CNAM)), the convention also hosted a Youth Forum to help secondary school and university students discover the metal industry’s professions. A Job forum was organised offering work experience and jobs to participants.
