The OB'ART Bordeaux trade show celebrated its 10th anniversary in November this year
The 10th edition was hosted in Hangar 14, showcasing the expertise of creative craftsmen on 24, 25 and 26 November
Organised by Ateliers d'Art de France, the OB'ART Bordeaux artistic professions trade show is an unmissable event for lovers of artistic craftsmanship. It celebrated its 10th anniversary in November this year. For three days, 90 exhibitors from all over France were assembled in Hangar 14 to share their expertise with the public and reveal their creations, including woodworkers, ceramicists, jewellery makers, leather workers, glass blowers, knife makers, sculptors and textile designers.
For the 10th edition, the show was hosted in Hangar 14, an ideal location on the banks of the Garonne and at the heart of life in Bordeaux.
The OB'ART trade show has become the benchmark in France for artistic professions with its exacting selection of craftsmen. Exhibitors are chosen by a panel of expert judges who look for talent, boldness, handcrafting and originality.
Numerous events and participatory workshops punctuated the show and created genuine interaction with the public. Visitors were able to discover the expertise of passionate craftsmen through a graphic performance, the work of a budding woodworker, a demonstration from students at Lycée Marcel Dassault specialising in clockmaking, and workshops on making puppets using latex and how to make a sheet of paper.
The show ended with 12% growth in the number of visitors. The organisers esteem that the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region is a welcoming and promising location for this market and its multitude of loyal visitors. An open event destined for the general public, Ob'Art Bordeaux also welcomed large numbers of commissioners as well as collectors and retailers from the region.
Save the date for next year’s event, already scheduled for 9 to 11 November 2018.
